Shelby and Percy

Percy's favorite room in the house is Shelby's.  Often, when Shelby and I return home from errands or school she'll  look for Percy.  9 times out of ten she'll find him sleeping on his bed or in the curtains in her room.

And 9 times out of 10 Shelby will volunteer to take a nap along with Percy. Had I known this would occur we would have brought home a cat a year ago.

I'm just glad Percy goes along with everything. He'll nap with her when she's napping and he'll go with her when it's bedtime. He doesn't even mind being locked up in her room all night. We really couldn't of asked for a better cat.

Percy's Patience

Shelby has been doing all sorts of things to Percy.  For the most part, Percy has been a really good sport about all the tugging, pulling, picking up and snuggling.  Shelby is in a nurturing phase and is constantly covering everything she loves in blankets and tucking them in.  Percy wasn't able to escape being tucked in with blankets this morning.  Last night, I found Shelby reading Percy a book; who was covered in a blanket.

Percy the Cat

We've been thinking about getting a cat for a while now, but there seems to be a shortage of free kittens in our area so we haven't been able to do anything about it. A few weeks ago a stray cat showed up at Travis' parents place and we decided to keep him.

Shelby loved Percy from the moment she saw him (well almost). She usually doesn't care much for animals, but she really likes Percy. Percy is learning to accept his new status as Shelby's BFF, but from the looks of it he is having an interesting time adjusting to having someone bug him every second of the day. I'm enjoying the fact that Shelby's attention has been diverted; she usually spends most of her day bugging me.  Percy seems quite at home with us and we are happy to have him.

In Memoriam: Andy and Sam

Andy "Anders" Gray and Sam "Sammers" Gray, both 2-years-old, have passed away mysteriously during the month of July, 2006.

Andy and Sam were born on July, 4 2004 in an alley in Corvallis, Oregon. They were rambunctious kittens and leisure loving cats. Andy enjoyed staying close to home and sleeping in the cold grass underneath shade. Sam enjoyed foraging and would spend days traveling and exploring the outskirts of south Corvallis.

Andy and Sam are survived by their owners of 2 years, Travis and Ann Gray, of Everett, WA; mother, Ali Cat, of Corvallis, OR; and littermates, Tiger, Snowball and Peaches, of Corvallis, OR.

No funeral services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to your local Humane Society.
