NW Passage Relay - I Thought This Was A 5k!

Travis, Beth, Malcolm, Warren, Bev and Alison ran the NW Passage Relay in Washington over the weekend. The NW Passage is a relay race that runs from Blaine, WA to Langely, WA...a course of 185 miles. There is a map below and if you click on the map you'll be able to see the bigger picture.
"I Thought This Was A 5k" was the official name of the team and was also marked as Team #1. Being Team #1 didn't really mean much, but the team was asked a lot of questions about how they managed to achieve that level of awesomeness. The team consisted of 12 runners (the other 6 were friends of Bev) and each runner ran 3 legs. Overall, the team placed 97th out of the 142 teams that participated. The team finished the race in 28 hours 5 minutes and 7 seconds. If I figured it out right, that means that the average mile was finished in 9 minutes...I'd say that was pretty good. Anyway, here are some pictures from the race.

One of my favorite photos: Malcolm is covered in bugs from his run!

I'm not sure what Travis is doing, but he's getting ready for his run.

Malcolm passing the baton off to Travis at the exchange.
