Shelby turned 3 today. I'm not sure how I let this happen, but Shelby sneaked another birthday past me.
We met Travis for lunch at Costco. Shelby's idea...she likes hot dogs.
We also stopped by my parents place to meet up with Beth, Bev, Paul and the other Hood to Coast runners who were resting between runs during Hood to Coast. Shelby made herself a cake and had Auntie Beth sing happy birthday to her. The birthday hat was also a must....she insisted on having one.
Shelby told me about a month ago that she would like to have an Incredible birthday cake. Not just incredible as in cool, but Incredible as in the Pixar superheros, The Incredibles. I had no idea how I would pull that one off because I couldn't find any Incredible cake pans or cake decorations anywhere. But, luckily I managed to pull it off. Shelby was thrilled with her cake.
To help celebrate, Shelby had a few of her cousins over for a sleepover.
When Auntie Laurie came by to drop off Hayden and Ellie, Shelby insisted upon painting her nails with the nail polish Camille gave her. Laurie is such a good Auntie.
Presents were opened in about 10 seconds. It went by so fast I was surprised I actually managed to get a few photos taken.
Shelby spent the night running around in her new Incredible costume and told me several times that she can't wait for Halloween to come so she can dress up as Mr. Incredible.
Cake time couldn't come soon enough for the kids. I don't know why we even bothered feeding them pizza for dinner.
The kids watched a movie and then went to bed somewhere between 1 and 2 in the morning. At least that's what I was told at breakfast.
Shelby promised me she'd stay 3 forever so we're safe for a while. Happy Birthday, Shelby!

Great job on the cake. It's very cute.
She seems so much bigger than 3. Maybe it's because my children are short? Great cake!
