September isn't my most favorite month. Maybe that's why no posts made it to my blog that month, I don't know. A few things did happen. I'll show you. Looking back, it seems our September was pretty busy.
ALDER FLAT
Over Labor Day weekend we went camping with Travis' family at Alder Flat.
Paul and Bev brought their hammock. It was a big hit.
Every time I tried to take a photo Shelby would whip out a silly face.
It was pretty funny.
Shelby roasted more mallows than I'd like to admit.
Shelby went fishing for the first time with Grandma Gray. And she caught a FISH!
Camille and Shelby had a blast.
This was the first year Shelby hiked in and out of camp. A 1 mile hike is pretty much her limit for hiking so we're glad Alder Flat is only 1 mile down the trail.
PRESCHOOL
We enrolled Shelby in her 2nd year of preschool. She absolutely loves it.
Shelby goes to school with her cousin, Tyler. They were supposed to be in the same class, but for some reason they were separated. Many tears were shed.
CANNON BEACH
For my mother-in-law's birthday we went to Cannon Beach.
The candy shop was visited.
Kites were flown.
Shelby requested to be buried in the sand.
And she managed to fly a kite on her own.
She also managed to take a decent picture of me.
PCC FAIR
Every September Travis' company puts on a gigantic fair all the employees and their families. It's pretty much the coolest thing ever. Free food, free rides, free games, free candy.
Shelby couldn't wait for the pony rides.
Travis and Shelby rode the roller coaster. Shelby was really excited for it, but she was scared out of her mind during the ride. It went way too fast.
The big slide was more Shelby's style.
We waited in line for more than an hour to get Shelby's face painted. She really wanted to look like a cat and since the face painting (and the cotton candy were free) why not?!
BABY LOGAN
Jessica (T's sister) and Ryan had baby #5. Logan Samuel Scott was born on the 17th. Shelby was really excited about seeing her new cousin, but then came disinterested in Logan once she saw the balloons in the room.
I had forgotten how tiny newborn babies are. He's so cute!
I think Travis was plotting something evil...
THE ELK HUNT
Travis and my dad went on a 6-day hunting trip with friends from church. It was T's first time gun hunting and he killed himself an elk on the very last hunt on the very last day of the trip. Whew.

I'm surprised that Travis had never been gun hunting before. I guess I always just assumed it was a given. I do remember something about a cross-bow, though.
