Ape Caves

Travis and I have been talking about hiking the Ape Caves for 7 years and we finally got around to doing it last weekend.  There are 2 lava tubes you can hike through.  The first tube was very easy. The second, a bit harder.  We had to climb a 6 foot wall and shimmy our bodies through a teeny tiny crevasse.    Poor Shelby was so tuckered out by the end of our 5.5 mile hike.  I don't blame her; the hike took us much longer than we were prepared for.  The cave was also cold and wet and by the time we got back to camp I decided to was too cold to spend another night. Yes, I am a wimp.
