My mom's birthday was on Friday and my parents treated the fam to dinner at Red Robin. After dinner we went back to my parents house for cake and ice cream.
The autumn equinox was a few days before my mom's birthday, but Travis (and Beth) still managed to balance eggs.
On Saturday, I decided to paint my kitchen chairs and table black. It was a decision based on a whim, but I think it turned out OK. I ended up distressing the chairs a bit so they look older, but you get the idea.
I still need to paint the table and I'm hoping to get it to turn out like this. I'm going to need to strip the table top and re-stain it. I hope I'm not digging my own grave with this project. If it doesn't turn out quite right, it will still be better than what I currently have.
Sunday, we all gathered at Jay and Laurie's to watch the Bronco game. After the game the kids wanted to go to the park to fly kites. It was a gorgeous day and an afternoon at the park was a great idea.

You take on so many cool home projects. I need to be more motivated to do that. I think mine consist of just moving things around in an attempt to 'organize'. I have intentions to paint a tv shelf to use in the new room we're going to build and use mainly for an office, but I keep putting it off.
OK 1. WOWSERS WHAT A CAKE.
2. Paint your chairs? Just for fun? You're amazing.
