County Fair

Laurie and I braved the county fair with 5 kids yesterday. I have to admit it was difficult keeping track of 5 kids who are all wanting to go in opposite directions at the same time. Shelby had 5 tantrums at the fair because she wasn't able to go and do the things she wanted to do all of the time. It was quite lovely. So many women came up to me during her tantrums and expressed concern for her and sympathy for me, something I'm quite used to and appreciate. All in all, everyone had a good time. But, by the end of the afternoon the kids were all annoyed, hot and tired. Had we left 1 hour earlier everyone would have left on a good note.

Ellie, Hayden and Shelby. Shelby makes a cute chicken, in my opinion.

Shelby peeking around to see a goat being milked.

Now she's trying to climb up the fence to get closer to the goats. Her inability to and my refusal to allow her to climb up and over the fence lead to 1 of her lovely tantrums.
Well, hello Mr. Goat!
Shelby loved sitting in this stage coach. She did not however, enjoy me forcing her to get out of the stage coach so others could have a turn. A spectacular tantrum followed.

After that awesome stage coach tantrum, Shelby found a bed inside 1 of the pioneer tents and helped herself to a little "rest." The owner of the tent witnessed the tantrum and offered to let Shelby sleep there for a while if I needed her too. But, we decided to go home for a nap, which in pure Shelby fashion, it did not happen.
