The Toddler Bed Experiment

I've been wanting to get Shelby into a toddler bed for some time now. It's mostly due to the fact that I don't like looking at a gigantic crib in her teeny tiny bedroom. I talked to some friends about getting a toddler bed today and they convinced me to go for it. Travis isn't too keen on the toddler bed idea, but we compromised and removed the front of the crib to see how Shelby does in a toddler bed. After we had the new bed ready to go Shelby was very excited about the new arrangement. It will be interesting to see how she does at night and in the morning and during her naps. I hope it works out because I really want to get some new bedding to spice her room up a bit.

Did I tell you I love your new look. Good luck with the bed.... hopefully she'll stay put... if not, it may take a couple of times putting her back in to get the idea across.

Even though we're so not ready for a toddler bed yet with Luke, I have contimplated on how to make the transition from crib to bed. I really don't want to spend money on a toddler bed and then up it to a twin size a year or so later. Cost wise I think it would be easiest to have the youngin' get use to sleeping in the "transition" bed (hoping they don't fall out) for a bit and then up it to a twin.
