Shelby found one of our scuba masks and wanted to put it on. She left the mask on long enough for me to grab the camera. (I know I don't need any more pictures of Shelbs wearing our masks, but I can't help it). I had to fumble around with the camera settings because someone keeps messing around with the buttons (Shelby) and the first picture I snapped (the one below) was taken with the flash. I didn't want the flash on because I didn't want to get the glare off the scuba lens. I quickly (or what I thought was done quickly) switched the camera to the "no flash" setting.
By the time I was ready to take another picture of Shelby I found her doing what you can see in the video below. The mask was off, the water was on and she was pouring water all over her self. You might wonder why she was on the counter in the first place. It's just easier it get her to hold still for pictures when she's on the counter; she has less room to run. Well, it used to be easier.
So, off came the clothes (I left the diaper on, I've made that mistake before) and I proceeded to clean up the counter. It took me a while to clean up; Shelby got more water on the floor than I realized. By the time I finished and was ready to get a new diaper on Shelby I found what you see in the picture below.
The diaper was off (way to go Shelby for figuring that one out, it really only was a matter of time) and Shelby had peed all over the couch. (Notice the wet water stain between Shelby's feet). Shelby was indeed quite proud of herself for removing her diaper (her hands were up high because she's a big girl).
My next task is to clean up the couch. I have no idea how to do this so I grabbed all the cushions and took them into the kitchen so I can deal with them there. Meanwhile, Shelby found a crayon (it must have been hiding underneath the couch cushion) and colored our couch. I'm not too upset about this because she at least had the decency to color where a cushion usually sits.
Note to self: Never look away, not even for a second.

Holy cow - is this what I have to look forward to? By the way, how did you clean the cushions. Just curious... :)
No worries, I have a lot of those days, at least you only have one. I have to deal with mulitiple encouters of children doing naughty things! Sometimes you just have to laugh, otherwise you might go crazy! LOL
Wow. Talk about birth control!
Sometimes I wonder why we signed up for this job...
lol. thanks for censoring the post! can't wait to see you soon.
I've actually heard the quickest and most effective way to potty train is let them go naked for a weekend. You have to watch them like a hawk, yes, and you get accidents, yes, but pretty soon they figure it out! so you might as well start now! yeah let us know how you cleaned the cushions.
