My mission for the day was to keep Shelby happy. As soon breakfast was in Shelby's tummy we headed out the door for a day filled with fun.
Our first stop was at Beth's place of employment for a surprise visit. Visiting Auntie Beth is a good way to ensure Shelby's happiness. Not to mention I like visiting Beth at work. It trips her out when her work world and her family world collide. Shelby enjoyed seeing Auntie Beth. She sat at her desk and walked around her office and gave a fist bump to all of Beth's co-workers. Shelby also liked her dum-dum suckers we found at the receptionist desk. Although, next time I may not let her suck on the cotton candy flavor. She had blue stickiness everywhere. I may have to invest in some of these dum-dum's and take them to church....yes, a little bribe never hurts.
Our next stop was Jay and Laurie's house. This stop was sure to keep Shelby happy. The Lundgreen's home is equipped with a bunch of awesome toys, 2 cats, cat food and Rock Band II. Shelby enjoys playing the drums...and the cat. (Although the cat isn't too fond of her technique). Yes, being at the Lundgreen's is definitely going to keep Shelby happy for a while. The stop at Jay and LoLo's worked out well. Shelby was happy and we got to eat a piece of cake for Scuba Steve's birthday. Happy birthday, Steve. Shelby kissed the cat and then squeezed him a little too hard and then she spent a while playing in Ellie's room and then had her turn on the drums with Rock Band II.
Our last stop was McDonald's for a happy meal. She loves the juice boxes and toys that come with these meals and if it keeps her happy for a little while longer, then yes, we'll take it. To make today's meal even cooler, Shelby found 2 toys in her box, instead of 1. And 1 of the toys turns on and buzzes around. Yes, very cool and it makes Shelby smile.
To make things even better we spotted the Statue of Liberty playing a purple guitar on the side of the road. People are so weird. But, it made me laugh. And my happiness is all that matters.
