Each day I end up thinking about one or of all of the K-2 babes. Usually, it's because I just read one of their blogs or it's because I just glanced at one of our photos I have sitting around my office. We all lived together in apartment K-2 during the 2001-2002 school year at Utah State. It wasn't uncommon for boys to visit us at K-2 and leave feeling dejected because we didn't need them around for entertainment. Plus, we probably scared them off with our sense of humor and obnoxious laughter. We were also connected because we were the oldest girls in the ward. And at ward temple nights, we'd usually be the only girls in attendance. I loved the K-2 days and I miss these K-2 girls terribly. I feel very blessed to have them in my life.
Erica (far left)
I first met Erica in 2000 during my first year at Utah State. I remember being impressed that this girl knew everybody. She was actively involved with ASUSU and work yet still made time for friends. She's just amazing. I especially enjoyed taking advantage of her office on campus. Er and I ran The Haunt (a 5k race) together and I am glad she was running next to me when we ran through that cemetery at midnight on Halloween. She recently received her doctorate and I love that I get to call her Dr. Er.
Teri (far left)
Teri is the spunkiest girl I have ever met. She has done and said some things that I would never have the guts for. Her love for Neil Diamond can never be matched by anyone. I will always think of Teri when I hear Neil singing on the radio. Teri served a mission in Russia and came home on the day I got married. It was so exciting being able to talk to her on the phone just before I left for the wedding. That really made my day.
Bonny
She didn't actually live with us in K-2, but she's an honorary K-2 girl because she's freaking awesome. I met Bonny the summer I moved into K-2. She had just moved into my old apartment (B-1) so we'd see each other occasionally. No matter how many times I told my dad that I moved, he kept calling my old apartment and Bonny kept coming over to tell me my dad called again. As luck would have it, Bonny ended up moving into my apartment (S-1) a few years later. It's a small world. And a happy one.
Rachel (2nd from left)
This girl has a sense of humor that makes me pee my pants. She is also very smart, but is good at acting like it isn't a big deal. Rachel came up with my favorite nickname, Ann Jemima, and I will always love her for that. She has a great attitude and can kind find humor in just about every situation. Because of this, I probably peed my pants everyday. I have always been envious of her hair and her sense of style. If I ever needed a lawyer I would call Rachel because she's the best.
Al (2nd from left)
When I first met Alicia I thought she was a little too quiet, but I knew there had to be a wild side in her because she was friends with Rachel. Sure enough, I came to know Al's wild side and I have loved every minute of it. Al worked at the Parking Department on campus and interviewed me for a job as a parking attendant. Needless to say, the interview went really well and I landed the best job I have ever had. USU Parking Rocks.
Heidi (far right)
On the first day I met Heidi we were instant friends. It's was like we'd known each other for years. One of the first things I remember her telling me was about this boy, Daniel, whom she dated in high school and swore she would never marry. Daniel came to visit Heidi one night and I knew Heidi was full of it. Heidi was the first K-2 girl to get married. She and Daniel just had their 3rd baby.

I must say, I too think of the K-2 babes every day. That was the best roommate year I ever had. What great memories and what a bunch of fabulous girls. Love you, Ann girl.
Thanks for bringing back some good memories. I think about that year alot too. Funny you should mention parking - I dreamt I was working there again the other day!
I didn't know you worked as a parking attendant! Fun stories!
