I can't even begin to express my excitement in completing a gingerbread house. It has been a dream that Beth and I have shared for many, many years. About 10 years ago, Beth and I attempted to make gingerbread houses. It was extremely difficult for us to assemble them. Each time we got 1 side of the house up another side would fall down. If all the sides were up, the roof would cave in. After all our attempts over the years we have never decorated a gingerbread house. But, this year I found already assembled gingerbread houses ready for decorating. We finally fulfilled our dream of decorating gingerbread houses and it was really fun. Laurie joined us in the decorating fun and we were giddy as school girls when we were all finished.

I have a great gingerbread recipe for houses if you want it. I use to make them every year and many years ago even taught my young women to make them. The key is hard gingerbread and lots of royal icing. Your's are really cute.
OK I am so ridiculously impressed. For real. My mother in law is super talented and can MAKE the gingerbread as well and it doesn't fall apart. Actually I think when we tried to assemble ours we ended up dismembering a wire hangar for reinforcements. It was sad. But totally fun. YAY for gingerbread houses!!
