"Yard" Project

When we moved into our place last summer we knew we didn't like the landscaping. Today, we finally decided it was time to do something about it. It was 95 degrees today, but we weren't worried becuase we didn't think it would take long to yank out 2 bushes and plant 2 new ones. We were wrong. After we started digging in the soil we came across concrete that was about 6 inches deep throughout the entire bed. We ended up renting a jackhammer to get most of it out. To make things more interesting, Travis mistook a water pipe for a root and broke it in half. Luckily, the water wasn't turned on so no harm done. All in all, it took us 6 hours to plant 2 bushes. Luckily, our dads came by to lend a hand. Shelby had a good time watching us work...the jackhammer was her favorite.

Your front porch looks wonderful. We have done the bush thing before. You never think it will take very long. I love to move plants to different places and change things around for a new fresh look. It looks great. I love Shelby's expressions when she is eating ice cream. So cold...

Love the front porch! Beautiful. Don't you have such a love/hate relationship with home ownership? Sometimes I miss the good old days when someone else took care of all the outside work. However, it's nice to get out there and work, too. Looks nice (and Shelby's the cutest!)
