Something Old Becomes New Again

Like most furnishings in my house my kitchen chairs and table are family hand-me-downs. Our "new" kitchen chairs and table are great, but they are a little outdated. With the help of my mom and my sister I found some great fabric to recover the chairs. My mom helped me recover them today and it was super easy. I am so glad to be rid of the 90's plaid we had going on before.

Before

After

I am thinking about painting the table and chairs black....what do you guys think?

I totally agree and highly recommend buying a plastic cover from Wal-Mart to protect it. We paid about $5 to cover our dark cherry wood table and it's in perfect condition -- no scratches at all in 2 1/2 years.

Glad to hear it's easy to recover those things. Our chair covers are cream and will need replaced before Austin reaches his next birthday. I would really like to find some type of leather covering, but we'll see. Then I'd only have to do this once!

In my humble opinion, the black would be fabulous. Nice work on the upholstery!
